36th Meeting of Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)

The 36th meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), chaired by the Director General of the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA), was convened on 8th October 2024. It was attended by chairpersons and members of Institutional Biosafety Committees (IBCs) along with other distinguished participants, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing biosafety challenges. The meeting's agenda included field trial cases and the import of GM soybean for Food, Feed, or for Processing (FFP) in Pakistan. During today’s meeting, a total of 03 cases of field trial permission and 1504 import cases of Soybean for FFP were presented to TAC for technical review. The TAC will submit its comprehensive recommendations to the National Biosafety Committee (NBC) marking a pivotal advancement in Pakistan's biosafety regulatory landscape.
