39th TAC Meeting

The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) successfully hosted the 39th Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting in a virtual format, chaired by the Director General, Pak-EPA. The session brought together key experts to discuss critical biosafety regulations and advancements.

🔹 Key Discussions:

• Streamlining the import process for GM soybean grain

• Finalizing SOPs for cross-bred GM varieties

• Reviewing 6 laboratory manipulation cases, 4 field trial proposals, and 1 commercialization case

• Evaluating 5 import applications for GM soybean grain (FFP purposes)

The TAC’s recommendations will be presented at the upcoming National Biosafety Committee (NBC) meeting, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to biosafety compliance and sustainable agricultural progress.
